The pitch should be of natural or artificial turf, although this option may depend on the rules of the competition . The land must be rectangular , and its length between 90 and 120 m (100 and 110 for international matches ) , and its width between 45 and 90m ( 64 and 75m for international matches ) . The entire perimeter of the field will be surrounded by lines 12cm wide at most : 2 longer lines will have the name of sidelines , while others will be the goal lines .
